I always go for a refurbished phone. At the moment I'm using a Sony Xperia XA2 which cost me around £200 two years ago. Works fines/good pictures and does everything I need. PS, Average user and i don't play games on the phone.
I'm happy with my Samsung Galaxy A71.

Went from a Galaxy S10 to a OnePlus N200…. Must say. This $300 phone rocks and with GCam, the camera doesn't disappoint, truly. 90Hz screen is a plus and at 1080p, it's hard to see a difference in the sharpness. No OLED of course, but the phone is very comparable.
