What happened now? If you’re the type of person who enjoys listening to music while playing games, you should know that Apple Music just arrived on the PlayStation 5, and with it its 90 million song repertoire. From now on, PS5 owners can listen to their Apple Music playlists on their consoles, as well as carefully curated game playlists.
Arriving Apple Music on PlayStation 5 Tags for the first time a game console is integrated with Apple Music. Starting today, anyone with an Apple Music and PS5 subscription can listen to over 90 million songs, featured and personalized playlists, 4K music videos, Apple Music Radio streaming, and live concerts on their console. PlayStation 5 players can use the Apple Music app as background music during games, or simply listen to the relaxing location between FIFA 22 matches to calm down a bit.
To set up Apple Music on PS5, go to All Apps in Home Media, find and select Apple Music, and click the Download button. Then launch the app and register or login using your Apple Music credentials. Follow the instructions to link PS and Apple Music accounts to complete the process. To unlink, simply exit the Apple Music app.
You will be able to launch Apple Music while playing or before launching a game. To turn on Apple Music while playing, press the PS button on your DualSense controller and enter Control Center. There, you will need to select a music function card.
It’s worth noting that Spotify has had a built-in listening app from day one. If you already use Spotify and want to switch between apps, you will find alternative music listening apps listed at the bottom of the Music Features card when you scroll down.
It looks like Sony and Apple have a good working relationship. The console has already been equipped with Apple TV + since its launch. In addition, the Cupertino giant has added support for DualSense controllers to its Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV devices.
