In short: Today Google is finally taking the covers off its new line of Pixel phones, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Its Tensor SoC is causing a lot of hype – if you’re not Qualcomm – and you can watch it all right here at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET.

As is often the case in the run-up to a new Pixel event, leaks spread quickly and quickly across the Internet. But in August, it was Google that confirmed that the next-generation Pixel family will be powered by a special system-on-a-chip called Tensor, which is manufactured by Samsung using the 5nm LPE process technology.

The move to Tensor means Google is ditching Snapdragon, which Qualcomm is not too happy about. The official Snapdragon account earlier this week cast a shadow over Google’s decision.

As for the rest of the specs in the Pixel 6 line, we know it comes in a variety of colors, comes with an M2 security chip, an integrated fingerprint reader, and puts a lot of emphasis on artificial intelligence and machine learning to “unlock certain capabilities.” for users.

We also know that the standard Pixel 6 will feature a 6.4-inch FHD + display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD + panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both have wide and ultra-wide cameras, and the Pro also has an optional 4x optical zoom periscope lens.

Aside from phones, we can expect Google to reveal more details on Android 12 during the event. We can also see the rumored Pixel Pass subscription service that may offer annual phone updates. There may be updated Google Pixel Buds, and perhaps Google will finally confirm the Pixel Fold and Pixel Watch, but don’t hold your breath for them.

Be sure to return at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET to see what Google has in store.
