Watch new footage of Cybertruck Tesla in action

Long-awaited: Despite the proliferation of electric / self-driving / semi-autonomous vehicles, you would definitely not describe them as looking futuristic. But one of the upcoming exceptions is Tesla’s Cybertruck, which, as its name suggests, looks straight out of Cyberpunk 2077 (at its lowest graphics settings). Now there are new prototype footage that has made the electric car hype.

The video tweeted by EV advocate Harsimran Bansal appears to be Tesla’s official promo video for Cybertruck. It depicts traffic on urban and suburban roads, the construction site of an unfinished Giga Texas plant and, for some reason, in a field.

Tesla boss Musk described Cybertruck as “a glitch in the Matrix. As if Neo had a car. ” First introduced in 2019, it will be available in single RWD, twin AWD and triple AWD variants. The car sounds like it can survive the apocalypse thanks to its “almost impenetrable” outer shell made of “super-hard 30x cold rolled stainless steel structural skin” and “Tesla bulletproof glass”.

Tesla’s tagline for Cybertruck is “More utility than a truck, more performance than a sports car.” The first part of that claim comes from its 100 square feet of lockable external storage, including a magical tonne case that’s strong enough to stand, the ability to hold six people, and tow more than 14,000 pounds. The truck also has a 17-inch internal touchscreen that looks very chic.

In terms of sports car performance, according to Tesla, the Cybertruck can hit 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds. It can also travel an incredible 500 miles on a single charge, and we’ve previously heard prices start at $ 39,900.

The sad news for those who paid the $ 100 deposit for the Cybertruck is that Musk recently told employees that he would not start production until late 2022, with mass production expected no earlier than 2023.
