Updated AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards are available at MSRP.

Why is it important: It looks like the graphics card market is getting closer to normal after what seems like an eternity of ridiculous prices and near-zero availability. An illustration of this is AMD’s recently released three updated RDNA 2 cards, which are reported to be in good condition and sold “strictly” in accordance with the MSRP.

AMD released the Radeon RX 6650 XT, RX 6750 XT, and RX 6950 XT this month, all updates to the standard (non-xx50 series) versions. They might not set the world on fire, but the good news is that these three new cards are available and on sale at the right prices.

Hardware maker Greymon55 tweeted that they are seeing this trend, which the market has been moving towards for some time now.

A quick look at Newegg confirms Greymon55’s findings. Two flagship Radeon RX 6950 XT models (from Asrock and Gigabyte) are available on the site. Suggested retail price $1099.. Some RH 6750 XT The GPUs are available for $549 and a pair RX 6650 XT cards can be purchased for $399 – all recommended prices.

Amazon has it too Radeon RH 6950 HT at the suggested retail price, although the cheapest RH 6750 XT and RX 6650 XT cards are slightly higher than recommended prices.

It was a long and difficult road to get here. Last May, the latest AMD and Nvidia graphics cards cost double and triple the price they should have. Fortunately, there has been a steady decline since then – they are now within 7% of the MSRP in Europe on average.

Mining is a significant factor in all of this. Cryptocurrency prices have been dropping so much for some time now that Asus recently stated that the demand for cards used for mining has “disappeared”, leading miners to grab fewer cards en masse. Cryptocurrency crash will also play a big role.
