Something to look forward to: Thrustmaster recently announced a partnership with Boeing on two peripherals – a rudder and a quadrant – in an effort to create the most realistic flight control system for fans of flight simulators and games. They don’t seem to compromise on build quality or functionality to get as close as possible to a real Boeing cockpit.
Thrustmaster announced Nov 9 – Pre-order details and availability dates for TCA Yoke Boeing Edition and TCA Quadrant Boeing Edition, which they plan to sell individually and in bundles. The idea is to recreate the 787’s controls as accurately as possible from the comfort of your home. The peripherals will be compatible with both Xbox and PC consoles.
The yoke – the aircraft steering wheel – is a complete copy of the 787 Dreamliner with a 100% metal interior. Its pendulum system simulates the rocking of a real Boeing floor-standing control column on a desk or table. It has 18 action buttons, including the official Xbox buttons, and a mini-joystick for display options. Among other things, it also includes a mobile device stand.
The quadrant, which includes the throttle controls, is also designed to replicate what can be found in a real Boeing. It has 17 native action buttons, three axes, and four interchangeable levers for extensive customization for each game. However, Thrustmaster designed both peripherals to simulate airliners and private jets as opposed to fighters. Users can also pair both devices with separate pendulum rudder pedals and Thrustmaster pedals.
TCA Yoke Pack Boeing Edition containing fork and quadrant available for pre-order for USD 500, and only the quadrant USD 150… Both will be shipped on December 23rd. Yoke pre-orders will begin on February 10th and will ship on March 10th. The price itself is $ 400, so the included option saves $ 50 and lets you get the controller sooner.
It’s worth noting that while Thrustmaster said that pre-orders are available globally as of November 9, there is a purchase option on its website that is only available for European regions. Fortunately, US customers can pre-order bunch and quadrant from Newegg now.
