The new graphics card topped the Steam poll for the first time since 2018.

What happened now? The latest Steam poll brought a big change: the graphics card knocked the GTX 1060 out of first place for the first time since January 2018. November was also a great month for AMD processors, which reversed a multi-month downtrend. to take almost 4% of the user share from Intel.

Most popular graphics card Poll on Steam participants was the GTX 1060, as it replaced the GTX 750 nearly five years ago. But the Pascal card has now been replaced by the Turing entry, though it’s not an RTX 2060 as some might expect – that card lost users last month – it’s a budget GTX 1650 that first appeared in 2019.

November was another month that showed signs of conservative consumer spending. With a few exceptions, all of the top performing GPUs (below) were on the cheaper end of the scale. The GTX 1650 was second with a 0.66% increase, while the RTX 3050, GTX 1050/Ti, GTX 1650 Ti, and GTX 1660 Ti made significant gains. The AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, which recently went on sale for $99, also performed well.

It’s not the first time the laptop GPU RTX 3060 has been the best this month, but the desktop version has lost 2.06% of its user share; November was not the best month for more expensive desktop cards.

Moving on to processors, AMD finally saw its fortunes reversed after four consecutive months of losing Intel users. Team Red snatched a 3.88% share from Chipzilla, bringing it back to the overall milestone of 30% – can the Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 series finally start to sell well after a slow start, perhaps thanks to recent cuts?

Elsewhere in the survey, Windows 11 has returned to its usual state of regular user growth after an uncharacteristic decline in October. Microsoft’s latest OS rose 4.61% in November, while Windows 10 fell 3.31%, bringing the former closer to the 30% mark. And while it’s been holding up for some time now, Windows 7’s overall share has dropped to 1.88%.
