The Day Before moves to Unreal Engine 5, but delayed until 2023

What just happened? One of the most anticipated games of 2022 will not release during this calendar year as originally planned. On Thursday, developer Fntastic told IGN that open-world survival MMO game The Day Before is currently being built on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5. Switching will greatly improve the gaming experience, but unfortunately means a delay.

The previously scheduled launch of the game took place on June 21. now scheduled as of March 1, 2023.

Fntastic shared an announcement trailer for The Day Before in January 2021. The game is set in post-pandemic America, overrun by flesh-hungry infected and other survivors hell-bent on… well, staying alive.

Back in January, the developer released an updated GeForce RTX 4K trailer that looks great. With the addition of Unreal Engine 5, the game is likely to become even more visually stunning.

If you are not yet familiar with the day before, you may be in the minority. currently Most Played Game on Steam ahead of other highly anticipated titles such as Stalker 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Starfield.

In March, Epic Games announced a multi-year partnership with CD Projekt Red to help adapt UE5 for open world gaming. It also became known that the next part of the popular Witcher franchise will be built on the new Epic engine, which was only released to the public in April.
