In short: Over the weekend, Team Spirit and PSG.LGD battled each other for a $ 18 million Dota 2 prize pool and the prestigious Aegis trophy. After winning two matches, Team Spirit allowed PSG.LGD to level the score 2: 2. However, in the last game Team Spirit gave their best and took the championship title.
Team Spirit won the largest esports cash prize from victory Dota 2 International 10 – $ 18,208,300 to be exact, and the Aegis trophy, Team Spirit’s victory over PSG.LGD, came 10 years after the last Eastern European team won the championship (Na’Vi in 2011).
The event was held at Romania’s largest stadium, the Arena Nationala in Bucharest, after the Swedish Sports Federation and the Swedish Minister of the Interior did not consider the International Tournament to be an elite sporting event.
After Team Secret knocked out to the lower bracket and finished in 3rd place, Team Spirit reached the final, where they defeated PSG.LGD. On its way, Team Spirit won against the previous champions OG, their compatriots Virtus.Pro and even the champions of Dota 2 International 2012, Invictus Gaming.

For a while, we knew about the prize pool of the Dota 2 championship, but then we did not know how it would be divided between the winners. Teams that took 18-5th places received between $ 100,000 and $ 1,400,600, which was almost the same as the winners of the first Dota 2 International in 2011 ($ 1,600,000).
In terms of the podium, Invictus Gaming finished in 4th place with a win of $ 2,401,100, while Team Secret finished in 3rd place with $ 3,601,600 home. PSG.LGD, which won silver after losing to champions, still won $ 5,202,400, so essentially every team member became a millionaire thanks to Dota 2. Who said good video game prowess can’t make you rich?
