In a nutshell: Razer announced its wacky $ 100 Zephyr RGB mask at the 2021 RazerCon digital event. However, in a slightly more relevant, gaming-focused hardware category were its new Kunai fans and PWM fan controller, Hanbo AIO liquid cooler and powerful Katana power supplies with support for Chroma.
The three-headed snake logo appears on more and more PC components as Razer announces its debut in power supplies, AIO liquid coolers, and case fans. Some of this hardware, such as the 120mm and 140mm Kunai fans and the magnetic PWM fan controller, are now available for purchase. Meanwhile, the Hanbo AIO liquid cooler will arrive next month and the Katana PSUs in early 2022.
As expected, fans of the Kunai case start at a fairly expensive $ 44.99, with Razer touting the enthusiast-level engineering solutions that go into their design. These fans use hydraulic bearings for durability and flexibility in installation, and addressable RGB LEDs in the front and rear rings. Razer also claims 70% higher static pressure and 21% quieter than the competition.
The $ 49.99 PWM fan controller can drive up to 8 of these fans with customizable curve control support and has a magnet on the back that fits neatly into your steel case while you route cables.
Another cooling device is the Hanbo AIO liquid cooler, which Razer co-developed with Danish firm Asetek. This unit comes in 240mm and 360mm radiator sizes and features an aRGB 360-degree pump cover. Razer did not disclose Hanbo’s pricing, although the wait will end soon as the AIO liquid cooler goes on sale next month.
Finally, there are Katana ATX modular PSUs, initially available in three high power options. Razer marks Platinum Efficiency for 750W and 1200W PSUs, while the 1600W model is rated Titanium. Razer says premium electrical components have been used internally to reduce heat generation, improve efficiency and clean power output.
Like the rest of Razer’s hardware, the Katana PSUs are Chroma RGB compatible and feature a zero-RPM aRGB fan that (sometimes) spins and glows where the sun is out. Expect the Katanas to be worth a lot when they go on sale early next year.
