What happened now? Analogue has confirmed that its retro-style Pocket Portable Gaming System will ship on December 13th, which means it could be in the hands of early adopters by the holidays. There is no guarantee for the latter statement, however, as Analogue notes that due to unprecedented shipping congestion, orders could arrive somewhere between December 14th and 30th.
In addition, those expecting to leave town for the holidays may inquiry for Analogue to hold its order and ship it starting January 3rd. If you fall into this category, be sure to contact the company before November 28, as changes cannot be made after that date.
The Analogue Pocket Gaming System has been around for a long time. The company announced the device in late 2019 with native support for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges. It features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 (615 PPI), which is 10 times the resolution of the original Game Boy.
With optional cartridge adapters, you can also play Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Atari Lynx games.
The handheld arrived on pre-order in August 2020, but at the time the company said it would not ship until May 2021. That shipping date has come and gone and we’re now looking at a launch in mid-December 2021. Prices start at USD 199.99and cartridge adapters will cost you an additional $ 29.99 apiece.
We were advised that those who pre-ordered the device were notified of updated shipping information via email.
