Nvidia teases more RTX 4000 details with cryptic code, confirms Lovelace architecture name

Very expected: There are only five days left before the event that gamers are looking forward to: the presentation of the Nvidia RTX 4000 graphics cards. Adding fuel to the fire, the green team has released a couple of new teasers for the GeForce Beyond event, including one with a cryptic code that may reveal some of the characteristics of Lovelace.
The latest teaser from the Nvidia GeForce Twitter account for Project Beyond shows a dual-monitor PC setup and plenty of the company’s iconic greens splattered across the keyboard, monitor stand, and even the cup. There is also a glowing green holocron in the corner.

The camera pans to a note pinned to one of the monitors, focusing on a sequence of numbers: (208) 629-7538. What they are is unclear, but there are many theories.
The “629” in the center of the line may refer to the die size of the AD102 GPU. It was rumored to be 628 mm squared, suggesting that the actual figure is 1 mm larger than suggested. The second number, 7538, is most likely the number of transistors. We have heard that the RTX 4090 will have 75 billion transistors, so the specific figure could be 75.38 billion.
Finally, there is “208” at the beginning of the code. This is confusing to people, but the most likely explanation is that the GPU delivers 2.08x the performance of the GA102 found in the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080. Again, previous rumors have indicated that the RTX 4090 offers roughly twice the performance of the current one. map -gen.

The second teaser trailer shows the same desk with a piece of paper next to the PC. When zoomed in, this is a “Bernoulli machine diagram” created for Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine by none other than Ada Lovelace in 1843. In fact, Nvidia has confirmed for the first time that the event will revolve around the Lovelace architecture.
The latest RTX 4000 rumors claim that the RTX 4090 will launch first in October, the same month we may also see three updated Ampere cards. It is also speculated that Nvidia is announcing this card alongside two versions of the RTX 4080 (16GB and 12GB) rather than the RTX 4070. We’ll know for sure Tuesday, September 20 at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET .
