Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Includes Five New Sega Genesis Games

In a nutshell: Nintendo is slowly but surely increasing the value of the Switch Online Expansion Pack subscription offering. With the latest additions in mind, Nintendo has announced seven new games for the service over the past few weeks. Let’s hope this trend continues in 2022.
Nintendo announced two weeks ago that the classic Paper Mario for the N64 will hit the platform on December 10th. Last week, we learned that another N64 favorite – Banjo-Kazooie – will be playable via an expansion pack in February 2022. Subscribers now have several new games for the Sega Genesis.

Nintendo on Twitter recently announced five new Genesis games for the Switch Online Expansion Pack: Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Sword of Vermilion, and Thunder Force II. The first three games also come bundled with the Genesis Mini console, which Sega released a couple of years ago.
At last check, the Genesis Mini dropped to $ 39.99 – a tremendous value for an exact miniature replica of Sega’s iconic 16-bit home console. But that was almost a year and a half ago, and it seems that new reserves have since dried up. If you still want a Genesis Mini, NES Classic, SNES Classic, or even a PlayStation Classic, be prepared to pay a sizable premium over their all-time lows.
Nintendo switch online individual memberships start at $ 3.99 per month or $ 19.99 per year. The 12-month membership, which also includes an expansion pack, will set you back $ 49.99.
