Meet the Actor Behind Your Favorite Voices in Video Games

As a child, Baker aspired to become a musician. Early in his career, Baker worked at FUNimation and dubbed numerous anime series, including Dragon Ball Z… “I cut my teeth and found out what my voice is capable of,” he said. “It was like my theater.” Returning to his English dubbing roots in 2018, Baker voiced the lead role of Bucky in the Netflix reboot of the hit Japanese manga-turned-anime.

Already associated with next-generation consoles, Baker is the voice of Simon Krieger’s character in the Marvel comics. Spider-Man: Miles Morales, one of the first games available for the PlayStation 5, and he plays as an entity called The Maw in Middle, one of the first games available for the Xbox Series X | S.

Talking about the logistical challenges that the Bloober Team faced while developing MiddleBaker said, “What I especially love about this industry is that a bunch of computer geeks look at something like Covid and say,“ Well, it’s just bad design.
