Massive GTA 6 leak with 90 videos posted online by Uber hacker

What happened now? What is purported to be a massive leak of GTA 6 content, including 90 test build videos, has been posted by an 18-year-old hacker claiming to be behind the recent Uber hack. Whether they’re legal is still open to debate, but a lot of it aligns with previous rumors, and the dialogue and cutscenes seem convincingly Rockstar-like.
The ZIP file has been sent to GTAForums about five hours ago (at the time of writing) with the message: “Here are 90 frames/clips from GTA 6. I may soon be able to leak more data, GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 test build.”
Normally one would expect such a link to download some sort of rogue malware, but no, it’s actually a bunch of supposed clips from a game in development.

The video above shows a player-controlled character named Lucharo robbing a diner along with someone named Jason as the timer counts down until the cops arrive. It looks a little rough, with some placeholders, cutouts, and missing textures, but it’s is test build for developers.
Previous rumors have claimed that GTA 6 will once again feature multiple main characters and will be the first game in the series to feature a playable female character. We’ve also heard that this will be happening in multiple cities, including Vice City; The VCPD on the police car in the video suggests we’ll be returning to a Miami-style location in GTA 6.
Some videos also add credibility to this leak. They have what sound like professional actors and dialogue that is immediately associated with a GTA game.

Another interesting point about all of this is that the source of the leak, “teapotuberhacker”, claims to be the same hacker responsible for the massive Uber hack that happened a few days ago. An 18-year-old with the username “teapots2022” gained access to the ride-sharing giant’s systems by simply tricking an employee into handing over his password via text message.

The last official news we heard about GTA 6 was that Rockstar wants the game to be the benchmark for “the series, our industry and all entertainment.” The company will reportedly take a more politically correct stance in its sixth major release and will not “hit” while making fun of marginalized groups. GTA 6 may not arrive until 2024 or even 2025, so it’s going to be a long wait before we know what’s in store for us.
