Made in Minecraft, this playable version of Zelda looks better than the original

What happened now? Someone made a fully playable version of The Legend of Zelda inside Minecraft without using any mods or resource packs. To get the right look, YouTuber C1OUS3R used a lesser-known world texture loading technique without any additional mods. From there, the user proceeded to reconstruct the entire Zelda world and took advantage of the world resources feature, which allows JSON blocks to be edited to increase depth.
It usually takes forever, but the youtuber used a program called Blockbench to speed up the process. Blockbench was also used to create Link.
Speaking of the main character of the game, C1OUS3R I had to figure out a way to disable sprinting and jumping since the original game didn’t have them.
To do this, the modder gave the player permanent blindness (which prevents them from sprinting) and used the world resource shaders in version 1.17 to completely disable the visual effects of the blindness. Usually blindness adds a heavy vignette that will ruin the presentation.
As for the enemies, only the most common ones have been added so far. Similarly, only the first dungeon was built, but if the video is successful, we might end up seeing more added. C1OUS3R promised to make the creation available once the video reaches 5,000 likes. On the first day, he already got 2k likes and seems to be on his way to breaking the 5k barrier.
The project is incredibly impressive and in some places even looks better than the original Zelda. Let’s hope we see the rest of the map filled with more dungeons and a full host of enemies.
C1OUS3R also created in-game versions Super Mario Bros. And Sonic the Hedgehog. Both are visually stunning, but I’m partial to Sonic’s build as the 3D touches take it to the next level.
What classic game would you like to see recreated in Minecraft next? Super Metroid would be incredible, but perhaps too complex. Maybe something more relaxed like Myst?
