How to solve AirDrop connection problems on iPhone, iPad or Mac

Next, make sure AirDrop is turned on. In the Settings app, select General and then touch AirDrop. You can then select whether you want AirDrop to be available to everyone on the portal or just those on your contact list. Because of the hurry, choose Everyone to see if it solves the problem immediately. It’s not bad even to try to turn off and on AirDrop so that it reconnects – to turn it off, select it Receiving Off.

If that doesn’t work, use the menu bar at the top of the screen and select the Wi-Fi icon. Make sure it is turned on and that you are connected to a network. Next, do the same for Bluetooth. You can also try shutting down and reactivating both in an attempt to reconnect.

You should also make sure that your firewall settings allow for new connections. Open the System Preferences application on your Mac, and select it Security and Privacy. On the Security and Privacy page, click on the lock icon in the lower left corner of the screen, and enter your password or use your Touch ID.

In the Firewall tab, you can click Turn off Firewall or click Firewall options and, in the pop-up, uncheck the box next to it Block all incoming connections, then click OK.
