God of War (2018) Coming to PC in January

Something to look forward to: Sony announced Wednesday that God of War is its latest game from the first manufacturer to get a PC port. It launches on January 14, 2022 with several new graphical enhancements and PC-specific control features.

PlayStation Blog Announcement included several screenshots of the PC. Pre-order pages are already open Steam and Epic Games Store… The former PlayStation exclusive will retail for $ 49.99. The most notable innovation in God of War on PC is Nvidia DLSS, which helps maintain high frame rates even at 4K resolution.

The PC version of God of War promises higher resolution shadows, better reflection in screen space, Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion (GTAO), Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Nvidia Reflex low latency support, and 21: 9 ultra-wide display compatibility … The game will also have fully customizable keyboard and mouse bindings, supported by the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. Sony has yet to publish the system requirements, except that it will require 80GB of storage.

Since its release in 2018, God of War has sold over 10 million copies – more than any other game in the series that began with the original 2005 PlayStation 2 game of the same name. as well as five Bafta trophies.

God of War joins other former PlayStation PC exclusives including Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone. Earlier this summer, Sony confirmed that more in-house games will be coming to PC, but only after launch on PlayStation. In September it added Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are on this list of upcoming ports coming to PlayStation 5 early next year and PC later.

The sequel to God of War, God of War Ragnarok, is also due out next year for PS4 and PS5. This will end the story that began in the 2018 game. Director Corey Balrog admitted that the long game development time (around five years) is the main reason Sony is not releasing the third game in the Norwegian Saga franchise.
