GeForce Now brings 4K cloud gaming to PC and Mac

What to look forward to: This week, Nvidia announced the arrival of 4K streaming in the GeForce Now apps for PC and Mac. The company also revealed which games will be coming to subscription this month, including three Star Wars titles, seemingly in honor of May 4th, Star Wars Day.

Since last December, GeForce Now subscribers can stream games in 4K HDR at 60fps through the premium tier RTX 3080, but only on Nvidia Sheild TV. Other devices were limited to a maximum resolution of 1440p, albeit at 120fps.

4K option is In stock in the GeForce Now apps for Windows and macOS starting today. Nvidia has also brought 120fps streaming to more mobile devices. including Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold3, Flip3 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

GeForce Now is offering three Star Wars titles in May, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars: Squadrons. Other noteworthy games hitting the platform today include new releases such as Trek to Yomi, Dinosaur Fossil Hunter, Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, and more.

King of Fighters XV, Raji: An Ancient Epic, Crossfire: Legion, Vampire: The Masquerade Swansong, Evil Dead: The Game, Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars, and more are due later in May. Visit the Nvidia Blog for Full list.

When Nvidia first introduced the 3080 level, users could only sign up for six months for $100. However, last month the company added a $20 monthly option. The addition of a short-term subscription and allowing 4K streaming on PC, as well as bringing 120fps to more devices, looks like an attempt to convince more users to try out the highest level of GeForce Now.
