Blizzard to Share Warcraft Mobile Game Details May 3

In short: Blizzard Entertainment is working on a new mobile set set in the Warcraft universe, and they’re getting ready to tell us more about it next week. Early rumors suggested that Warcraft Mobile could be a Pokémon Go-style game that encourages users to get out of the house, but given the pandemic situation over the past few years, the direction of the game could easily change.

Blizzard will be hosting a mobile game showcase on May 3 at 10:00 AM PT. Those who want to tune in can see Live Stream on the Blizzard landing page. Unfortunately, that’s all we know at the moment, as the title, which has been allegedly in development since at least 2018, has been kept under wraps from the start.

In company news, Blizzard recently released a new patch for Diablo II that includes a massive overhaul of the game’s class system. We also learned that Diablo Immortal, the upcoming free-to-play MMORPG, will not be limited to mobile devices as originally announced.

Diablo Immortal was announced during a keynote at BlizzCon 2018 to a crowd of fans who were basically expecting to hear news about Diablo IV, or maybe a remaster of an old game… anything but a mobile game, really. Needless to say, it didn’t go well. The ensuing question and answer session was quite inconvenientto put it mildly.

However, Diablo Immortal will indeed release on PC starting with the open beta on June 2nd.
