Benchmark Leak Shows Intel Arc Alchemist GPU Running Like 3070Ti

What to look forward to: Rumors have been circulating for some time that the performance of at least one of Intel’s upcoming discrete desktop GPUs is roughly on par with the Nvidia RTX 3070 or 3070Ti. The latest leaked benchmark of what appears to be Intel’s top-end GPU further confirms these rumors.

A benchmark for an Intel graphics card appeared on Sisoftware this week, and it looks like compare advantageous against Nvidia’s 3070Ti. The site rates the card in terms of statistics such as clock speed, GP calculation (with multiple levels of accuracy) and efficiency.

The test does not list an Intel card (only the driver is listed), but judging by the statistics, it is undoubtedly a high-end Intel Xe HPG 512 EU. It is shown to have 4096 ALUs, 512 EUs and oddly enough 12.8 GB of VRAM. The Xe HPG 512 EU was previously rumored to have 16GB of RAM (above).

The GPU in this test is clocked at 2.1GHz, but we don’t know if that’s the base or boost clock. Either way, it outperforms the 1.8GHz 3070Ti clock speed in the same reference point (below).

The 3070Ti wins in single floating GP computing at 25,810.54 megapixels per second compared to an Intel card of 20,888.29. However, Intel outperforms the 3070Ti in a half float of 35,093.25 vs. 35,072.61 Mpx/s, a double float of 1000.31 vs. 571.93 Mpx/s, and a quad float of 109.46 Mpx/s vs. 21. 62 Mpix/s.

The 3070Ti wins slightly in Sisoftware’s overall speed efficiency stats, but the Intel GPU ranks slightly higher among GPUs overall (both in the 99th percentile). However, we probably won’t know how Arc Alchemist GPUs perform until they’re out in the wild and there are accurate gaming benchmarks.

Earlier rumors have positioned another mid-range Intel model as a rival to the RTX 3060 and a lower-end model to the GTX 1650, albeit with ray tracing and an Intel DLSS XeSS competitor that the 1650 doesn’t have. They should launch in March.
