In a nutshell: TV-sized monitors are becoming more common these days. Added to the list of monstrous gaming displays is AOC with a new 43-inch 4K @ 144Hz HDR monitor.
AOC China announced G4309VX / DThe 43-inch monitor has a 3840 x 2160 resolution combined with a 144Hz refresh rate, which means you’ll need a powerful rig to get the most out of it. Its VA panel complies with the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 standard with a brightness of 1100 cd / m², although its SDR peak brightness is 720 cd / m². It also has local edge dimming.
Elsewhere, the monitor boasts 1ms response time (MPRT), 4000: 1 contrast ratio, adaptive sync, motion blur reduction, dual DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and HDMI 2.1 inputs, so we can expect this to be popular with both. PC and console players.
Buyers also get 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC) and 100% sRGB / 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, as well as four USB 3.2 ports and a headphone jack.
AOC has yet to reveal pricing for the G4309VX / D. TechPowerUp notes that a similar model (G4309VX) sells in Taiwan for $ 1,300, but it lacks HDMI 2.1, so we can expect the new version to be about the same or slightly larger. There is no word yet on when or whether it will be available outside of China.
43 “monitors have been around for years, but we’ve only recently started to see more of them with gaming features. One of them is the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U, which has similar specs to the latest AOC display.
