Amazon’s MMO New World Postponed Again, Release Date Pushed For Another Month

What happened now? Shortly after the Closed Beta ended, New World Amazon Games announced that the game’s release had been delayed once again, pushing back its release by about a month from August 31 to September 28. The team needs more time to finalize after the feedback received from players during the beta period.

The announcement was made on Twitter, where the development team wrote a letter to fans thanking them for participating in the closed beta and explaining why the release had to be delayed. The team will take into account player feedback on beta testing to “make New World even better” by improving some game systems, fixing bugs and increasing stability.

According to the developers, it was a “tricky decision”, although this is not the first time the game has been postponed, but we are confident that this will be the last time.

The letter also provides some details on closed beta testing. Steam registered the peak is over 200,000 concurrent players, but it looks like the total number of players was actually much higher, with over a million players entering the game. Moreover, the players accumulated over 25 million hours of beta gameplay.

The Closed Beta also sparked some controversy, with users reporting that their RTX 30 series cards broke and fried while playing or were simply idle in the main menu.

In response to these messages, Amazon stated that the team “[has] found no signs of widespread issues with the 3090s, either in beta or during [their] many months of alpha testing. “The team then updated the game by limiting FPS in the menu” to further reassure the players. “

The release is scheduled for September 28th and you can pre order New World Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition via Steam or Amazon for $ 39.99 and $ 49.99, respectively.
