Xiaomi has unveiled a brand new budget phone: the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE.
Not to be confused with the eponymous Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, the 11 Lite 5G NE is only 6.81mm thick, making it one of the thinnest 5G phones you can buy. The new phone has an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.55 inches, and the main camera is 64 megapixels.
It joins Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, expanding the 11 lineup from the phone maker. All of these phones lack the signature “Mi” in their names.
Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is available in four matte colors – black, blue, pink and new white, and it weighs 158 g. The display supports 10-bit TrueColor as well as Dolby Vision and has a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip, which is also part of the Realme GT and Honor 50 series. This processor is the key difference between the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, which uses the Snapdragon 780G. However, it uses the same 4250mAh battery and 33W fast charging technology.
The 64-megapixel main shooter is supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens as well as 5-megapixel tele-macro, as well as Xiaomi software features such as vlogging mode, as well as cinematic video filters for the keen home filmmaker. On the front is a 20MP selfie camera.
There are three RAM and storage options: 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, 8GB and 128GB, 8GB and 256GB.
It starts at € 369, which is roughly £ 315 (excluding VAT). The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is currently priced at £ 399, so we expect the cost of this new Xiaomi Lite phone to be similar to this one, although perhaps a little cheaper due to the less powerful processor.
Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will be available for purchase from Xiaomi in October. Official UK phone prices will be confirmed closer to the launch date.
