Both last year’s Xiaomi 11 Ultra (pictured) and Xiaomi Mi 11 had curved displays, but the Xiaomi 11 Lite, Xiaomi Mi 11i and Xiaomi 11T Pro had perfectly flat screens.
While this is far from a universal trend, we have noticed a slight shift towards flatter screens in the smartphone market. In particular, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series had a completely flat bezel, and where Apple is heading, most of the rest of the market tends to follow.
Curved displays have reacted a bit too in recent years. While they look good in press shots, such displays are more vulnerable to damage and misinterpretation from the palm of your hand, while video content is not uniform and light distortions often spoil landscape content.
Another interesting snippet from the original source that should be noted is that the Xiaomi 12 series (Xiaomi ditched the Mi brand earlier this year) appears to have symmetrical speakers, which probably means they will line up in line on one side of the top. and the bottom edges, unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11.
Apart from this last tip, we have heard that the Xiaomi 12 could be the first Snapdragon 898 phone to hit the market.
We also heard that the phone will have a 50MP camera (actually three) and not the monstrous 108MP camera of the Xiaomi Mi 11 line. There were rumors about a 100W charger as well.
