Xiaomi 11T series release date, price and specifications

There are still a few months left until the next real flagship series from Xiaomi, but in the meantime, the 11T series is already here – a half-step update from the Mi 11 series that tweaks the older phones a bit. Think about remixes, not updates – especially since these phones are actually cheaper than the Mi 11 in terms of price.

There are two phones: 11T and 11T Pro. Note that Mi is not here – these are the first Xiaomi phones released in the West as the company has officially removed the Mi name from its hardware to make things easier.

When will Xiaomi 11T phones go on sale?

Xiaomi officially unveiled the two phones together on September 15th, but the actual release dates are a little more complicated. It will also differ slightly depending on the market, but as a guide, here are the UK release dates:

  • Xiaomi 11T: on sale from October 8
  • Xiaomi 11T Pro: pre-orders from September 24, on sale from October 1.

Both phones are expected to go on sale in Asia and Europe, but as usual, they won’t make it to America.

The phones were unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE phone, the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet, the updated Mi Band 6 with NFC, a new smart projector and mesh Wi-Fi.

Remember, we still expect the Xiaomi 12 to arrive either late this year or early next – check out our ranking of the best Xiaomi phones to learn more from the company.

How much does the Xiaomi 11T cost?

What about prices? Here’s how much each model costs in the UK and Europe:

Xiaomi 11T price:

  • 8/128 GB: £ 499 / € 499
  • 8/256 GB: £ 549 / € 549

Xiaomi 11T Pro price:

  • 8/128 GB: £ 599 / € 649
  • 8/256 GB: £ 649 / € 699
  • 12/256 GB: € 749

Note that both are cheaper than the base Mi 11, which officially starts at £ 749 / € 749, although it is often available at a lower price right now. Keep this in mind when we get to the specs.

What are the specifications and features of the Xiaomi 11T?

Let’s take a look at each of the two new phones separately, starting with the base model.

Xiaomi 11T specifications

The Xiaomi 11T actually has a few notable changes over the Mi 11, so don’t expect an exact replica with a minor chipset change.

First, the design is different. It’s slightly smaller, with a display of 6.67 inches instead of 6.81 inches, although it’s actually thicker (8.8mm) and slightly heavier (203g).

It also comes in a slightly different set of colors: Moonlight White, Celestial Blue, and Meteorite Gray, which has a slightly polished metallic look.

The design of the camera module has changed a lot, its three lenses are now positioned vertically. These are also different lenses. You still get the main 108MP shooter, but it has a large aperture at f / 1.75 – the tradeoff is no OIS, only EIS.

The ultra-wide-angle camera has dropped to 8MP from 13MP, but there’s the long-awaited return of the 5MP tele macro camera – one of the few smartphone macro lenses we really appreciate.

One of the notable changes in the Mi 11 version is the chipset that dropped from the Snapdragon 888 to the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 – still a flagship chip, but one that undoubtedly outperforms its competitor Qualcomm. RAM is now limited to 8 GB, while 12 GB is not.

Xiaomi 11T display

The display is still 120Hz AMOLED, but it transitions to the Mi 11’s four-curve flat panel and reverts to FHD + resolution. You may also notice that the selfie camera has moved from the corner to the center of the panel. You at least still get Gorilla Glass Victus coverage on the screen.

Finally, the battery jumped to 5,000mAh – which is probably why the phone got thicker and heavier. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging, but on the positive side, wired charging has jumped from 55W to 67W, presumably providing a full charge in 36 minutes.

Full specifications:

  • Chipset MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Ultra
  • 8 GB of RAM
  • 128/256 GB UFS 3.1 storage
  • 6.67 ” 120Hz FHD + AMOLED Flat Panel Display
  • Rear camera
    • 108 MP, f / 1.75 EIS main camera

  • NFC
  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • Wi-Fi 6

Xiaomi 11T Pro specifications

The 11T Pro doesn’t change too much, and in fact it will be difficult for you to distinguish the two phones from the outside: the design has not changed, right down to the choice of color and size. Pro is only one gram heavier, but nothing more.

Xiaomi 11T Pro

All the differences are inside. The chipset reverts to the Snapdragon 888 found in the Mi 11 for starters, which will be welcome for those worried about performance – and again there is a 12GB RAM option, although it may not launch in the UK.

Another important change concerns charging. The battery capacity is the same and there is still no wireless charging, but the wired connection speed now reaches 120W and a full charge takes just 17 minutes, according to Xiaomi.

Beyond that, the specs are essentially the same, so the Pro is only worth upgrading if your priorities are performance and ultra-fast charging (and you can handle that whopping extra gram of weight).
