When can I download the public beta of iOS 15?

Apple confirmed during WWDC 2021 that iOS 15, with iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15, will be available soon in the form of a public beta to launch in July. But when exactly in July should we wait for the public beta program iOS 15 to be launched?

While Apple is yet to confirm a specific date, we can look back at previous iOS public beta to get an idea.

In the early years of the program, the public beta fell in June; the public beta of iOS 12 began on June 25, 2018, and the public beta of iOS 13 began on June 24, 2019. However, the pandemic forced Apple to delay WWDC in 2020, pushing it out of its usual initial schedule of June at the end of June, and this meant that the public beta of iOS 14 was launched a little later, on July 9, 2020.

The fact that Apple has confirmed a July release window suggests that we should expect a version similar to iOS 14, perhaps enabled July 8, 2021 if it wants to hit the same Thursday release as last year’s beta.

We’ll update this section once we get confirmation from Apple, so we’ll get back to you soon for the latest published details of the beta version.
