Qualcomm has launched a new chipset aimed squarely at the affordable smartphone market, but what are its full capabilities?
Qualcomm, the mobile chipset maker, has released two new mobile processors that are not meant to compete with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, but rather complement cheaper Android smartphones. However, there are some impressive specs on board, and in this explanatory article, we’ll take a closer look at the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 will apparently offer significant upgrades over the previous generation of chipsets from the same brand. Specifically, you can expect performance improvements of up to 10% from GPU and up to 15% from CPU.
With this new update, the camera will also get more support, and for the first time in this series of chips from Qualcomm, you will be able to capture 108-megapixel images. What’s more, the chipset can also support multi-frame video noise reduction and triple simultaneous photo and video shooting.
With the next generation Qualcomm Hexagon Tensor Accelerator and the 3rd generation Qualcomm Sensing Hub, this processor will be able to support artificial intelligence features, including a built-in voice assistant, far-field detection with multiple microphones, and echo cancellation.
In terms of connectivity, there’s a Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF system and a Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 mobile phone system, so you’ll have access to peak 2.5Gbps 5G download speeds as well as “premium 2×2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth” . .
