Xiaomi, as expected, has announced the new Redmi Note 11 series of smartphones, with two of the four models going on sale in the UK.

“Responding to the challenge to offer even stronger specifications and features, the Redmi Note 11 series once again offers powerful upgrades to its camera system, charging speed, display and SoC, making flagship smartphone performance more affordable than before.” Xiaomi said.
Starting with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, the device looks like it could be a natural disaster in the budget phone market. The combination of price and technical characteristics is a rarity.
For just $179 (£132) you get a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. In addition, it has a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, and Xiaomi claims that it can reach 1000 nits of brightness.
There are at least five cameras in total, though the typical combination of a 2MP macro and rear-facing depth sensor makes up a fraction of that number. However, the 50-megapixel main and 8-megapixel ultra-wide both sound good.
Inside, the Redmi Note 11 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and offers 33W fast charging for a 5,000mAh battery. The firm says you’ll get from 0 to 100% in about an hour.
The amount of memory and storage reaches 6 and 128 GB, respectively, in total, three different SKUs are available:
- 4/64 – $179
- 4/128 – $199
- 6/128 – $229
Other specs include stereo speakers, a microSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and IP53 splash protection. The semi-gloss matte design is available in a variety of colors, including Granite Gray, and pretty much the only thing missing here is 5G support.
Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
You get it, as the name suggests, on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. This model bumps the screen up to 6.67 inches, and while it’s still AMOLED and Full HD+, you get a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sample rate. It also achieves a higher brightness of 1200 nits.
There are only three cameras on the back without a depth sensor, but the main camera is 108MP and the phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. The memory and internal storage is 8GB and 128GB, but we are talking about average prices. to the usual note 11:
- 6/64 – $329
- 6/128 – $349
- 8/128 – $379
Specs like stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner are of course left over from the Redmi Note 11, but to better compete with the competition at this mid-range price point, the Note 11 Pro has 67W charging.
This means that, according to Xiaomi, you can charge a 5000 mAh battery by more than half in just 15 minutes, and the charger is included in the box.
While we don’t know where they’ll go on sale, for those who are wondering, the Note 11S mostly packs a 108MP camera over the regular 11, while the Note 11 Pro switches to a 4G-enabled MediaTek Helio G96 and has a depth sensor. as the fourth rear camera.
All Redmi Note 11 phones come with MIUI 13, the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android overlay. New features include a sidebar with your favorite apps and various performance optimizations, including up to 60% faster storage and up to 10% longer battery life.
