Vivo X Fold may become a new competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

The specs and images of the upcoming Vivo X Fold foldable phone have apparently been leaked online, and a couple of specs should make the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 sweat.

It’s generally accepted that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the best foldable phone in the business, but there’s a contender in the works that wants to exploit some of the champion’s key flaws.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 does a lot of things right, but its cameras aren’t particularly good. According to the specifications published by the leader Digital chat stationThe Vivo X Fold can be configured to address this shortcoming with a 50MP 1/1.5-inch main sensor, 48MP ultra-wide, 12MP 2x telephoto, and a 5x 8MP periscope lens.

You may have missed Vivo’s recent work, but it has become one of the most interesting smartphone camera makers in recent years. Vivo X60 Pro is equipped with an innovative gimbal system that provides supernatural stability for shots.

There is no indication that the Vivo X Fold will include this feature, but we are hoping for a strong camera nonetheless. Relevant renders show Zeiss and T* branding, so the optics should be up to par.

Most modern Samsung phones (including the Galaxy Z Fold 3) have some kind of blind spot when it comes to charging, and the Vivo X Fold seems to be set up to solve this problem. Apparently, it will come bundled with a 66W charger and support for 50W wireless charging.

Elsewhere, it seems that the Vivo X Fold will feature an LTPO 8-inch OLED screen with QHD+ resolution, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 power, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The renders also show a very attractive design, so we’re very excited to see if Vivo can beat its illustrious rival in foldable flagship rates.
