Vivo V25: everything you need to know

Over the past few years, Vivo has built a decent reputation for being rugged smartphones that don’t cost the earth.
Now, rumors are starting to surface about what we’ll see when the Vivo V25 and Vivo V25 Pro hit the scene in the next few weeks. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming devices.
What happened to Vivo V24?
While logic dictates that the successor to the Vivo V23 5G will be the Vivo V24 5G, the company has confirmed that it will be the V25 series announced in the coming weeks. It’s an odd move, but it’s no surprise when it comes to Vivo – the company previously skipped the Vivo V22, jumping from V21 to V23 for seemingly no reason.
There are suspicions that this may be due to the inclusion of the number 4 in the name, which has a negative connotation in the eastern market, but this does not correspond to the previously omitted V22.
Maybe vivo just Indeed I don’t like some numbers…
In any case, the next smartphones in the Vivo V collection will be Vivo V25 and Vivo V25 Pro.
When will Vivo V25 be released?
While Vivo usually works on a six-month update to its V range, the upcoming V25 range is keeping that trend going a couple of months after its expected June/July release.
Anonymous sources told 91Mobiles Hindi that the Vivo V25 Pro will be launched in India on August 17, 2022, with a release scheduled for a week later on August 25, 2022. Although it was not confirmed at the time, Vivo India took to Twitter to confirm the announcement just a few days later. later, with the launch in India, which should take place in 12:00 local time August 17, 2022.
It’s also worth noting that availability in the UK, US and Europe has yet to be confirmed. After all, there are many smartphones destined for India that don’t make it to Europe!
How much will Vivo V25 cost?
As with the release date, Vivo has yet to announce how much the new device will cost. But we have previous models that can be used as a guide. Here are the prices for the latest pair of V-series devices:
-
Vivo V23: €499 / £29,990 (about £350 / $470)
-
Vivo V23 Pro: £38,990 (about £390 / €460 / $520)
-
Vivo V21: £399 / €399 / £29,990 (about $519)
Vivo has only recently begun launching devices outside of Asia and some other regions, with some models available in Europe but not others. At the time of writing, the Vivo V21 5G has arrived in the UK, but only at the end of 2021, while the V23 5G was only available in mainland Europe.
With that in mind, we don’t really know what territories the V25, or its rumored Pro versions of it, will see outside of India when they finally launch. However, US buyers will have to import the phone as Vivo is one of many Chinese brands that do not have a presence in America.

Many reports we’ve seen have indicated that the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor is the silicon of choice for the V25. This seems dubious since the Dimensity 920 in the V23 5G is the best chip. MyGadgetNews comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 920, which we think is the more likely choice.
Most of the rumors suggest that Vivo will once again use a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same 64MP + 8MP + 2MP camera configuration found in the V23 5G.
The good news is that the Pro model is said to get more impressive gains, with a leaked Geekbench benchmark listing indicating the inclusion of the same Dimensity 1300 found in the OnePlus Nord 2T and Oppo Reno 8.
The leaked listing also suggests it will be available in more than one variant, with 8GB and 12GB V25 Pro version listings on the Geekbench database.
It is also said to offer an improved selfie camera with a 32MP selfie camera complete with OIS capabilities.
The Pro model will also reportedly ship with the same color-changing Fluorite AG glass on the back and will also support 66W fast charging.
