The Vivo S12 is reportedly in development as the next series of smartphones from the Chinese brand. Ahead of any official announcement from Vivo, some specs of the phones have been revealed by the tipster. Vivo’s latest smartphone series includes the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro models. They are said to launch later this month, around the same time as the Oppo Reno 7 series. The latest Oppo Reno lineup is said to include the Oppo Reno 7, Oppo Reno 7 Pro and Oppo Reno 7 SE models.
Tipster Arsenal via Weibo published about the launch of the new Vivo S12 series. According to the whistleblower, the Vivo 12 and Oppo Reno 7 series will launch around the same time. The whistleblower added that Oppo has opted for flat displays for its smartphones, while Vivo has focused on curved screens. The Vivo S12 Pro, the best variant in the series, is said to have a 50MP main camera. However, other characteristics of smartphones in this series, such as processors, cameras and battery capacity, are currently unknown.
The upcoming Oppo Reno lineup has leaked several times in the past, offering prices for smartphones as well as some of their specs. As mentioned, the series includes the Oppo Reno 7, Oppo Reno 7 Pro and Oppo Reno 7 SE smartphones. The Oppo Reno 7 and Oppo Reno 7 Pro feature a 6.5-inch OLED display with Full HD + resolution and a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. The Oppo Reno 7 SE variant is considered the base model in the new lineup and has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Oppo Reno 7 costs CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs 40,900) for the base RAM + storage option, while the base model of the Oppo Reno 7 Pro costs CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 50,300). The Oppo Reno 7 SE is said to be priced at 2,699 Yuan (roughly Rs 31,600) for the base model.
The launch of both the Oppo Reno 7 series and the Vivo S12 series has yet to be confirmed by Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
