It seems that Samsung can be satisfied with the camera on Galaxy S21 Ultra… Or at least the company is happy enough to stick with the customization for another year.
According to the report GalaxyClub (by using GSMArena), The Galaxy S22 Ultra may miss a major update in 2022. The report says that next year the Ultra model will have the same set of cameras as the current S21 Ultra.
It includes a 108MP main sensor, a 10MP 10x periscope sensor, a 10MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra wide-angle sensor.
The news of the 108MP main camera coincides with a previous report from Ice Universe whistleblower, which denied other rumors that the company’s first 200MP camera would be installed in the S22 Ultra, in a post posted on Chinese social network Weibo in July.
Rather, Ice Universe believes “100%” that Samsung will tweak the third-generation 108MP sensor for the Ultra next year.
Meanwhile, GalaxyClub also revealed that the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will undergo some big changes with the addition of a 50MP main camera and a 12MP wide-angle lens on the back.
The two phones also appear to have a 10MP selfie camera, matching the front cameras on the S21 and S21 Plus.
Again, this information is not far from other rumors we’ve seen.
On August 15, Ice Universe announced that the S22 will be equipped with a 50MP 1 / 1.55-inch main sensor, a 12MP lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens.
However, the tipster also claims the S22 Ultra will get a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, a 12MP 3x optical zoom lens, and a 12MP 10x zoom periscope camera. that the last two lenses will have 12-megapixel sensors instead of 10-megapixels, as indicated in the GalaxyClub report.
The S21 was equipped with a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens. If these rumors are true, the S22 will get more megapixels on the main camera and significantly less on the telephoto lens.
We still have time before the launch of the S22 series is expected, which means we may have to wait until 2022 to see if these rumors are true.
