Apple will consider a reverse wireless charging feature for the iPhone 13 phone, according to a new rumor.
An important fan believes that Apple plans to adapt to the next-generation iPhone with a larger wireless charging coil that could increase MagSafe and wireless charging power. Reverse recharging would definitely be a bonus.
While Samsung has offered reverse wireless charging functionality under the Powershare Wireless stripped down for quite some time, Apple’s iPhone is lagging behind in this regard.
In case Apple decides to integrate the practical feature, iPhone users may be able to replenish their wireless charging case with AirPods by placing it on the bottom of an iPhone. It may also be possible for iPhone owners to lend a bit of relief in case one of them is missing, placing the devices back and forth, as Galaxy owners have been able to do since 2019.
For many iPhone users, the prospect of a faster wireless charging to match certain Android rivals would be a priority. Larger charging coils mean better heat management, meaning that speeds can be boosted to greater power.
The voice instigator, Max Weinbach, believes the coils could also be used to create a stronger magnetic connection to Apple’s MagSafe accessories.
Currently, it is only possible to charge the iPhone 12 with MagSafe, up to a maximum of 15W and even that requires Apple’s 20W power adapter to reach maximum speeds. In case Apple reinforces this, it will help roll out the likes of OnePlus, which offer an amazing 50W wireless charging speed in OnePlus 9 Pro.
Today’s voice comes through EveryThingApple Pro and, while Weinbach has been accurate in the past, it’s worth taking this with a pinch of salt for now.
