Sony Xperia 10 IV release date, price and spec rumors

In recent weeks, we have witnessed the introduction of several new Sony smartphones. One of them is an offer that could very well be on a lot of people’s list – the Sony Xperia 10 IV.

Here’s everything we know about this more affordable mid-range car from the Japanese giant.

When will the Sony Xperia 10 IV be released?

At the time of writing, Sony has not revealed a possible launch date for the Xperia 10 IV. However, if we use the previous models of this line as a guide, we get the following picture:

Aside from the original model, Sony seems to have taken over early summer space for Xperia 10 releases, so that could mean we’ll see the Xperia 10 IV around that time. This aligns with the rumors we’ve also heard about its bigger brothers, the premium Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV.

One thing to keep in mind is that the last two models were announced by Sony a few months before their release, meaning we could see new models including the Xperia 10 IV unveiled pretty soon.

How much will the Sony Xperia 10 IV cost?

Since there was no announcement of the phone, we don’t have a price at the moment either. So we turn to previous models for some clues:

  • Sony Xperia 10 III – £399/€459 (about $519)
  • Sony Xperia 10 II – £319/€379 (about $419)
  • Sony Xperia 10 – £299/€349/$349

It’s not as useful as it could be, as Sony raises prices every year and doesn’t offer phones directly in North America as of late.

While the upward trend makes price fixing difficult, we tend to believe that Sony will stay about the same as with the Xperia 10 III, otherwise it will be difficult for it to compete with the mid-range market, which has become fiercely competitive over the past couple of years thanks to the influx of Chinese brands. such as Oppo, Xiaomi, Redmi, Realme and OnePlus offering serious hardware for little money.

What will be the specifications of the Sony Xperia 10 IV?

While Sony has remained tight-lipped about what to expect from its new device, the rumor mill has been spinning at a pretty old pace lately. Always reliable OnLeaks has retained its current form with a collection of rendered images of the Xperia 10 IV that showcase various elements it gleaned from leaks and insider tips.

OnLeaks worked in partnership with the Zoutons tech site, where more details were provided on the potential Xperia 10 IV lineup. The display will reportedly be a flat 6-inch OLED (presumably the 21:9 aspect ratio commonly used in this series), with two speakers mounted on either end of the display. The display will not have a hole punch or notches (Sony is stubbornly resisting this trend), but instead a fingerprint sensor will be built into the power button on the right side.

In line with the trend we’re seeing in 2022, Sony will also adopt a square-edged body design that reportedly measures 153.3 x 67.3 x 8.4mm, growing to 9mm when the camera protrusion is taken into account. on the hull. back. There’s also a standard USB-C charging port to power the 4,000mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack – God bless you, Sony.

In terms of internals, the leak says it will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset, although this is doubtful as the same platform was used in the Xperia 10 III, so a Snapdragon 695 seems more likely. Having said that, the shortage of chips around the world means that some manufacturers have stayed on the same generation of chipsets when updating models, mainly due to affordability and avoiding increasing production costs, so perhaps the Snapdragon 690 can get another exit.

It is assumed that this will add 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. There is a nice change, the latter can also be expanded by using microSD cards, as in the Xperia 10 III.

There is no confirmation as to which cameras will be offered as the leak just talks about a three-camera array. It will most likely be a lineup similar to the 12MP, f/1.8 (wide), 8MP, f/2.4 (telephoto), 8MP, f/2.2, 120˚ (ultrawide) at Xperia 10 III. .
