Sony Xperia 1 IV looks set to be announced on May 11th
Sony appears set to announce the Xperia 1 IV flagship smartphone at an event on May 11th.
The Japanese tech giant’s Xperia department posted a tweet saying it will make an “exciting announcement” on its YouTube channel on May 11, 2022 at 4:00 pm JST (9:00 CEST).
While it’s not mentioned by name, it doesn’t take a super sleuth to figure out that this “big news” will be the announcement of the Sony Xperia 1 IV.
Last year, the Sony Xperia 1 III (pictured) was announced in April, so it’s safe to say we’ve overdue some official news about its sequel. However, we would by no means call the Sony Xperia 1 IV late as its predecessor didn’t actually hit the market until August.
While it didn’t sell much (the best Sony phones are pretty niche these days), we called the Sony Xperia 1 III “one of the most interesting phones” of 2021. His profile is tall and square, ridiculously sharp (and flawless). ) The 4K display and professional photography helped it stand out among Android flagships.
Previous tips have suggested that the Sony Xperia 1 IV will be a big step up from the Xperia 1 III with new cameras, improved charging speeds and an updated design. Naturally, productivity will also increase.
Except for some pretty vague mentions and some renders (it should be said, very similar to the Xperia 1 III), we haven’t heard too much about the Sony Xperia 1 IV. All this makes this announcement even more enticing.
