Samsung releases One UI 4 based on Android 12 for Galaxy S21 phones, new update for Galaxy Watch

Samsung announced on Monday that it is rolling out One UI 4 to its Galaxy S21 series of smartphones, which includes the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra. He claims the update will offer users new customization options, privacy features and an overall “improved mobile experience.” The update is based on Android 12 and will be rolled out to other smartphone models in the coming months. In addition, the South Korean company has also released an update for the Galaxy Watch series smartwatches.

As for the Galaxy Watch series update, it will be available for the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 from today.

Features of Samsung One UI 4

Samsung released Public beta of One UI 4 update based on Android 12 in September, adding new themes, color palettes and privacy settings.

The released stable update now offers more customization options with a new set of color palettes, allowing users to change the appearance of icons, menus, buttons, and backgrounds on the home screen. It gets new widgets and a richer set of emoji, GIF and keyboard stickers. Samsung One UI 4’s privacy features include alerts when an app tries to access a camera or microphone, a new privacy panel for settings, and controls for easy monitoring. The update also expands continuous support for third-party applications and services.

Meanwhile, Samsung has allegedly posted and then removed the notice of the One UI 4 rollout schedule on its smartphones. Tipster Tron (@FrontTron) published an image that purportedly is a translation of the now deleted official notice to Samsung members. Several Galaxy Z, Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series phones will receive the update in December, according to the notification. Samsung Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series and older foldable devices may receive the update in January, and tablets in February.
