Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2022 was held on Thursday in San Francisco, USA. During the event, the South Korean tech giant officially announced One UI 5.0 based on Android 13. It showed off several key features of One UI 5.0, including custom modes and procedures, dynamic lock screen, and more. An exact release date has not been set, however it will be released towards the end of October.

On Thursday, Samsung held SDC 2022, where announced that the Galaxy S22 series will receive One UI 5.0 stable by the end of October. However, release dates may vary by region.

One UI 5.0 beta is already available for Galaxy S22 smartphones in India. It was previously reported that Samsung may release the stable version of One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy S22 series on either October 17th or 19th.

Unfortunately, Samsung has not hinted that other Galaxy smartphones will receive the One UI 5.0 stable update anytime soon. So users of the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 may have to wait until 2023 to get One UI 5.0 based on Android 13.

During the SDC 2022 keynote, Samsung showcased some of the key feature what the stable One UI 5.0 will bring. These include new personalization options, such as custom profiles and treatments, and a dynamic lock screen. There is also a new Bixby Text Call feature that allows the Bixby voice assistant to answer your calls and share your typed message with the caller. Samsung has also added the Samsung Privileged Health SDK, which allows developers to use the BioActive sensor on the Galaxy Watch 4.
