On October 13, Samsung took the Jimintober celebration to the next level when it hinted at a BTS version. Galaxy Z Flip 3 among his Unpacked part 2 teasers.
“You haven’t forgotten about # GalaxyZFlip3 yet, have you? We still need to talk. #GalaxyxBTS @BTS_twt “, tweeted Samsung along with a link to the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has partnered with BTS on a product.
In 2020, the company teamed up with a South Korean group to launch the Galaxy S20 Plus BTS Edition and Galaxy Buds Plus BTS Edition. The phone was painted a purple metallic hue with a tiny purple heart on the camera module and the BTS logo on the back of the device, while the earbuds were adorned with a purple heart and BTS logo on the charging case.
The phone also comes with an exclusive theme with BTS wallpapers, animations and app icons. Both devices came with photographs and stickers in the box for some extra appeal.
Samsung has already released animated wallpapers for the front screen of the Z Flip 3, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the foldable screen look similar to the S20 Plus in terms of themes and icons.
More recently, BTS has been used to promote the regular Z Flip 3, and rapper Suga has even released the latest version of Samsung’s signature ringtone “Over the Horizon”, so it should come as no surprise that the group could get their own version of the foldable ringtone.
Apart from a few changes, we expect the Z Flip 3 BTS Edition to remain largely the same as the regular Flip.
This will include a dual-screen clamshell design, a 120Hz foldable display, a Snapdragon 888 chipset inside, and dual cameras on the back.
We’ll have to wait for the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked live stream on October 20 to find out more.
