According to reports from South Korea, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S22 at the Unpacked event on February 8, and the device will be available for pre-order the next day.
“We have confirmed that the event will take place on February 8, and are discussing the timing of the invitations at the end of January,” the spokesman said. However, Samsung has yet to officially confirm that the device will launch on that day or whether the event will be streaming through its social channels.
Samsung reportedly told the site that pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 will begin the next day, February 9, prior to a February 24 release date. This will be in line with expectations from the device following the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE at CES 2022 last week.
Samsung is expected to showcase three flagship phones at Unpacked; the standard Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra. These phones are configured to work with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2220 processors, depending on which region you are in.
The devices have undergone a large number of leaks as usual over the past few weeks, so we don’t expect too many surprises from this event. The design has almost been confirmed by leaks, and rumors suggest that the cameras will be highlighted by an “ultra-clear lens” on the flagship Galax S22 Ultra.
Reliable reviews has contacted Samsung to confirm if the event will take place on February 8, but the company will likely confirm its plans in due course.
