It is reported that the Samsung Galaxy A12 will receive a new variant soon. According to the report, Samsung may soon release the Galaxy A12 with an Exynos 850 processor instead of the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC currently running on the smartphone. The Galaxy A12 support page with model number SM-A127F / DS – the codename for the Exynos smartphone – has appeared in the Philippines. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy A12 with Exynos 850 chipset has also been spotted on the Google Play console listing.
BUT report DealNTech claims a Samsung Galaxy A12 could be released soon with an 8nm Exynos 850 octa-core processor paired with a Mali-G52 GPU. The Samsung smartphone originally debuted in November 2020 and ran on the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, which combined up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage – expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The smartphone was subsequently launched in India in February with the same specifications.
The SM-A127F / DS has also been spotted at the Bluetooth SIG. listing and earlier report by GizPie offers European pricing for the upcoming Galaxy A12 smartphone with model number SM-A127F. It is expected to cost € 157.90 (approximately Rs 14,000).
BUT support page for SM-A127F / DS on Samsung’s website is also available, suggesting that the smartphone may be launching soon. The support page is located on the Samsung Philippines website.
Samsung Galaxy A12 specs (rumored)
Tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) also spotted Samsung Galaxy A12 with Exynos 850 SoC listed on Google Play Console. The listing suggests that the Exynos-powered Galaxy A12 can be paired with 3GB of RAM. It can also run Android 11 and have a 720×1339 pixel display. Interestingly, the list also suggests that the smartphone may be called the Samsung Galaxy A12s when it launches.
The rest of the smartphone specs may remain the same as the original SoC-based MediaTek Helio P35. The new Samsung Galaxy A12 can be equipped with a 6.5-inch HD + TFT display. In terms of optics, the smartphone could have a quad rear camera with a 48MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and two 2MP depth and macro sensors. For selfies, it may have an 8MP primary sensor.
Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy A12 can include LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. There could be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Samsung could pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.
