Redmi Note 12 Turbo spotted on 3C certification website in China could be released as Poco X5 GT globally: report

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 series was launched in China last October. The series includes vanilla models of Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Following this, the Chinese smartphone maker added two limited edition variants to the lineup – Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Now, according to reports, the company is about to add another special model to the lineup dubbed Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which has been reportedly found in the China Compulsory Certification (3C) databases and the databases of the IMEI certification website.

According to report Gizmochina, the alleged Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphone has been spotted on a Chinese 3C certification website. The list seems to suggest phone charging capabilities. The report hints that the alleged addition to the Redmi Note 12 lineup will have support for 67W fast wired charging.

The smartphone was previously speculated to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The smartphone is also expected to feature a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone, according to an earlier report, could have a triple rear camera setup. The camera unit can get a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. In addition, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo version is expected to come with a 5500mAh battery. The latest 3C reveal seems to have confirmed earlier speculation that the smartphone could support 67W fast wired charging.

Meanwhile another report Xiaomiui suggests that the phone was also found in the IMEI database. However, here it was noticed that it bears a different name – Poco X5 GT. This could be the moniker under which the smartphone could be launched outside of China, the report added. Additionally, the device may run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The device has been seen to come with three model numbers, suggesting that there will be just as many options. The Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is reported to have model number 23049RAD8C, while the global variant of Poco X5 GT has model number 23049PCD8G and the Indian variant of Poco X5 GT has model number 23049PCD8I.

However, it is important to note that Xiaomi has not provided any official confirmation regarding the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo version.
