Redmi K50 series is powered by MediaTek Dimensity and Snapdragon processors

The Redmi K50 series is reportedly in development. The upcoming K-series flagship Redmi smartphones are predicted to feature four different processors – two from MediaTek and two from Qualcomm. The assembler also mentions that all four models of the Redmi K50 series will ship with the new MIUI 13 pre-installed. The two MediaTek chipsets mentioned are MediaTek Dimensity 7000 and Dimensity 9000. The first Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer has yet to launch.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has announced the alleged processors that will be featured in the upcoming Redmi K50 series smartphones. The assembler mentioned four processors – SoC MediaTek Dimensity 7000, which will be released soon, recently released SoC MediaTek Dimensity 9000, SoC Snapdragon 870 and unannounced SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. According to the forecast, Redmi smartphones with Qualcomm chipsets will be faster than smartphones with MediaTek chipsets …

Digital Chat Station has also hinted that the Redmi K50 series smartphones will come pre-loaded with MIUI 13. However, it is not yet known if they will receive the new MIUI based on Android 11 or Android 12.

Earlier this month, the tipster said that the Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition and Redmi K50 Gaming Pro will be codenamed Matisse (based on French artist Henri Matisse) and Rubens (based on German artist Peter Paul Rubens). The former is said to be internally designated L11A and the latter internally coded L10.

According to the hint, the Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC, while the Redmi K50 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. The former will also get a triple rear camera with a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 sensor.

On the other hand, the Redmi K50 Pro will reportedly be marketed globally under the Poco brand, supposed to be Poco F4 GT or Poco F3 GT. It is also said to have a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate with Goodix and FPC fingerprint sensors. It could get a quad rear camera setup, possibly with a 64MP Sony Exmor IMX686 sensor.
