Redmi 12C Global Variant with MediaTek Helio G85 SoC appears on Geekbench ahead of launch

Redmi 12C could be launched in global markets soon. There have been conflicting reports online about the branding of this upcoming phone. The phone was previously speculated to launch globally as the Poco C55, and a recent report suggests that the Redmi 12C will debut in India this month. Now, a new Xiaomi phone has appeared in the Geekbench database. It is believed that this is the global version of Redmi 12C. The phone lists a 2GHz octa-core chipset that is believed to be the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.
The global variant of Redmi 12C was listed on Geekbench as Xiaomi 22120RN86G. The alleged Redmi 12C model for global markets is equipped with an octa-core chipset with two high-performance cores clocked at 2GHz and six efficient cores clocked at 1.80GHz. Based on the core configuration, this chipset is a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. It is also listed as having 4GB of RAM and running Android 12.
According to the Geekbench listing, the Redmi 12C global variant scored 355 in single-core performance and 1173 in multi-core performance. Unfortunately, there are no other specifications of this entry-level smartphone on the list.
The phone has already launched in China and has a starting price of 699 Yuan (roughly Rs. 8,500) for the 4GB + 64GB internal storage model. Meanwhile, the top 6GB + 128GB storage variant costs 899 Yuan (roughly Rs. 11,000). We can expect the global variant to also have the same specs as the Chinese model.
Redmi 12C features a 6.71-inch HD+ display with a maximum brightness of 500 nits. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with a Mali-G52 GPU. There is up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. In terms of optics, this smartphone comes with a 50MP dual rear camera sensor and a 5MP front camera. The 5000mAh battery supports 10W wired charging.
