Realme’s new GT mid-range smartphone has been approved for launch in Europe. The GT Neo 2 starts at 449 euros and boasts features such as a unique digital urban design, a 120Hz display and Realme UI 3.0 software on top of Android 12.
The Realme GT Neo 2 has been officially launched in China and India since September, but we now know that it will appear in the UK and Europe. There are two options to choose from – the base model includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while an extra € 100 will upgrade you to 12/256 GB for € 549.
At this reasonable price, you get an impressive array of specs, provided you can ignore the aging but still competent Snapdragon 870 5G.
The main features of the GT Neo 2 include a 120Hz AMOLED screen – the company’s first HDR10 + display. Realme claims to be the “industry leader” with a 600Hz sampling rate and a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits.
It also has a large 5,000mAh battery and 65W SuperDart fast charging, which the company claims can fully charge a phone in just 36 minutes. Cameras include a 64MP AI main camera and a 16MP selfie camera with film simulation filters and street photography modes.
Realme has also done a good job of shipping the Android 12 phone that was recently launched alongside the Pixel 6, although you get it via Realme UI 3.0, the firm’s own skin.
This new version comes with Fluid Space Design, which Realme says provides a more expressive and organized layout. This is due in part to new 3D app icons and dynamic movement of information below to leave more white space.
“In addition, the size of the headline, as well as the contrast of characters and text have been increased to give users a sense of importance and focus on the information they receive. This leads to a more pleasing visual experience, ”said Realme.
As with the standard version of Android 12, personalization is also improved with the ability to change icons, backgrounds, fonts and other elements, and UI 3.0 also supports global theme color customization. In addition, the smooth AI engine aims to make the interface smoother.
Realme GT Neo 2 is available in three color options: Neo Green, Neo Blue and Neo Black. Its so-called Digital Urban Design is the first product from Realme Design Studio to use the seven nanospace process to produce a dual texture finish.
The specific release date for the UK and Europe is not yet known, but it looks like it will compete with the best mid-range phones you can buy.
