The Realme GT Pro 2 has been confirmed to be one of the first phones to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
Realme recently confirmed the name of its upcoming flagship phone, as well as the fact that it will indeed be its “first and most premium flagship phone.”
We have now received confirmation that the previously value-driven brand means business at Snapdragon Tech Summit Digital 2021. The company has confirmed that it will be “one of the first manufacturers to launch a smartphone based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform”. in the shape of Realme GT 2 Pro.
Qualcomm’s announcements came in very quickly. Technical Summit… We first received confirmation that Qualcomm’s next flagship chip will not actually be called the Snapdragon 898, but rather some even less convenient Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Then the announcements of third-party equipment began in earnest. We found out that Xiaomi 12 will indeed be the first phone to receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 power.
We also learned that what is likely to be the Oppo Find X4 Pro will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Now Realme has mixed its name with the GT 2 Pro too.
Other rumors point to a triple-camera system, led by a pair of 50MP sensors, a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,000mAh battery.
Unofficial renders suggest the Realme GT 2 Pro may also sport a striking design similar to the Nexus 6P.
While the Realme GT 2 Pro will be the brand’s first fully flagship phone, it has been taking steps in that direction lately. Last year, the Realme GT (pictured) packed the power of the Snapdragon 888, which was the predecessor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
