PS5’s new colors look even better

Sony surprised everyone when it teased its upcoming PSVR 2 headset during the CES 2022 press conference, but it’s not the only PlayStation-related product we’ve seen in Las Vegas.

The show is also the first time Sony is showing off the recently announced colorful covers for its PS5 console, which is still incredibly hard to find.

These skins may replace the standard white version that has been shipping with the console since launch, and should offer a little more customization for those who don’t like the current shade.

You will be able to choose from Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Starlight Blue, Galactic Blue and Nova Pink when they go on sale later this year.

Sony showed off these new covers at their booth at CES 2022 and we have to say that they look much better in person than in the images released in the press. All shades, with the exception of Midnight Black, are rich and vibrant, and certainly have an attractive finish.

We could assume Midnight Black will be the most popular, especially for those who have requested a black version of the console since its launch in late 2020. However, our attention was more drawn to the blue and red variants – both of which are deep and actually quite unique. Whether they’ll fit into a home entertainment system or not remains to be seen, but if you’re looking to draw even more attention to the huge console, then they are definitely two to choose from.

You can see below to see each of the colors below and let us know on Twitter @trustedreviews which one you would like.

Sony also showcased matching controllers for each color. You may have purchased Midnight Black and Cosmic Red DualSense for a while, but three more colors will soon be added to the range.

Of course, in order to use these covers, you really need a PS5 – which remains a challenge due to the ongoing shortage of chips.
