Poco C55 is expected to be a rebrand of Redmi 12C, expected to launch soon

Last week, Poco launched the entry-level smartphone Poco C50 in India. It is now believed that the company may soon release another Poco C-series smartphone. A credible whistleblower is now claiming that the Poco C55 could soon hit the global market. Interestingly, a tipster is suggesting that this smartphone could be a rebadged version of the Redmi 12C that recently debuted in China. Redmi 12C is a budget offering with a 6.71-inch HD+ waterdrop display on the front.

Tipster Kacper Skshipek (Twitter: @kacskrz) mentions in a recent tweet that Redmi 12C will be launched worldwide as Poco C55. This entry-level smartphone is also expected to arrive in India. Redmi C series smartphones are considered to be rebranded versions of Redmi phones. Even the Poco C50, which was recently launched in India, is said to be a new brand. [Redmi A1+].

If the Poco C50 is indeed a rebranded Redmi 12C, then it will have the same specs as the latest phone. Recall, Redmi 12C is equipped with a 6.71-inch HD + display with a peak brightness of 500 nits. Under the hood of the phone is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with a Mali-G52 GPU.

Redmi 12C is equipped with a 50MP dual rear camera with LED flash. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back. This smartphone also received a 5-megapixel front camera. It has up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 flash storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB).

The 5000mAh battery supports 10W fast wired charging. Redmi 12C is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port. This smartphone is offered in Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green and Lavender colors.
