Oppo Reno 9 specs, hands-on images online, Snapdragon 778G+ chip

The launch of the Oppo Reno 9 has yet to be officially confirmed by the Chinese smartphone company. But before that, key specs of the upcoming Reno series phone have surfaced online. The Oppo Reno 9 is speculated to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It can be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC paired with 12GB of RAM. In addition, live images of the phone have leaked online hinting at the design. The renders suggest a triple rear camera setup on the Oppo Reno 9. The Reno 9 is expected to replace the Reno 8 released earlier this year.
Tipster digital chat station on Weibo has posted the alleged specs of the Oppo Reno 9. The screenshot of the post was general another tipster, Mukul Sharma. According to the leaker, the new phone will have a 6.7-inch (2412×1080 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said that there is a cutout in the center of the display for the selfie sensor. It can be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G SoC along with 12GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, Oppo Reno 9 will get a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B main rear camera. For selfies, there might be a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 selfie camera. The phone is said to pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
Separate Weibo user Jinan Digital (in translation) leaked alleged live images of the Oppo Reno 9. The leaked live images show the phone in a black tint with a hole-punch display design. The renders also show a triple rear camera setup located in the top left corner of the rear, along with an LED flash. Volume rockers are visible on the left edge of the smartphone.
Oppo Reno 9 will likely debut alongside the Reno 9 Pro and Reno 9 Pro+ models. A recent leak suggested that the Reno 9 Pro will use the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 SoC. The Oppo Reno 9 series is expected to replace the Reno 8 line of smartphones released earlier this year.
