Oppo Find N2 Flip Foldable to be unveiled at MWC 2023 as global variant Leaked specs

According to the latest leak, the Oppo Find N2 Flip foldable clamshell, which was announced alongside the larger Find N2 in China, may finally hit the global market. While the Find N2 will remain exclusive to China, the smaller Find N2 Flip will see a global launch as early as February, according to the leaker. The phone uses a new waterdrop notch hinge design that makes wrinkles less visible and also reduces stress on the internal foldable display. It features a larger than usual external display, which should make it a perfect competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series.

Tipster says @snoopitek, Oppo Find N2 Flip will be released in Europe and worldwide. A release date has not been confirmed, but a source claims it will likely happen at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2023 (MWC 2023) event, which is scheduled for February.

The leaker also shared more details on the global variant of the Oppo Find N2 Flip, which appears to be very similar to the one announced in China. The processor also remained the same – MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC. Based on the leaked photos, the phone appears to be identical in design and will be available in Astral Black and Moonlit Purple colors worldwide. According to the leaked information, it also has an IPX4 rating, which makes it resistant to water splashes.

The internal foldable display is a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel that oddly offers Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display has a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels and the screen refresh rate is set to a maximum of 120Hz with an aspect ratio 21:9 screen. The external 3.26-inch display has a resolution of 720×382 pixels with a refresh rate of 60Hz and is also covered with Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone appears to only come in one configuration, offering 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. For communication, there are two SIM cards with 5G dual standby, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. The phone packs a 4300mAh battery and supports 44W SuperVooc wired charging. As seen in an earlier report, there is no mention of wireless charging in the leaked spec sheet. When folded, the phone is 16mm thick and weighs 191 grams. The package includes a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, a SIM eject tool, a protective case, and a charging adapter.

If the above information does turn out to be genuine and Oppo eventually launches the Find N2 Flip globally, it would be interesting to see a new contender in the foldable market that has long been dominated by Samsung devices. The Oppo Find N2 Flip should compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is also on sale in India. While Samsung’s foldable already offers features like wireless charging and an IPX8 rating, it was stuck in our review with a tiny display that didn’t fare well in terms of usability. Oppo, on the other hand, promises a much better experience with its external display, which is said to reduce the need to open the vertically folding smartphone by 20 percent. What remains to be confirmed is whether or not Oppo’s first foldable clamshell will make it to India.
